Meet the people dedicated to Empowerment and independence.
Our team
EXCUTIVE DIRECTOR
Kent Crenshaw
Here at independent rights and resources, we are proud to walk alongside individuals with disabilities as they break barriers, reclaim independence, and shape lives filled with opportunity and choice.
Each day, we are inspired by the resilience and determination of those we serve. Whether it’s securing accessible housing, learning new life skills, advocating for policy change, or simply finding the right resources, our team is committed to providing support that empowers—not defines.
We know that disability does not mean inability. With the right tools, advocacy, and community, independence is not just a goal—it’s a reality. As Executive Director, I am honored to lead a team that believes in people, not limitations. Together, we will continue building a more inclusive world—one where independence is not a privilege, but a promise.
INDEPENDENT SPECIALIST
Carmen Crenshaw
As the Head Independent Living Specialist, my role is more than a job, it’s a commitment to helping people recognize their strength, make informed choices, and live life on their own terms.
We believe that independence looks different for everyone, and that’s something to be celebrated. Whether someone is transitioning into their first apartment, navigating transportation, or learning new skills to live more freely, our team walks beside them every step of the way.
What makes our work meaningful is the connection we build. We don’t just offer services—we listen, support, and advocate. We empower individuals to discover what independence means to them and help turn those goals into reality.
It’s an honor to be part of someone’s journey—to witness their growth, their wins, and even the courage it takes to try again. Every story matters, and every step forward is a victory.
INDEPENDENT SPECIALIST
Michele Bradshaw
At the core of my work is a deep belief that independence is not a one-size-fits-all journey—it’s personal, unique, and powerful. As an Independent Living Specialist, I have the privilege of supporting individuals with disabilities as they build the lives they choose, not the ones chosen for them.
My role blends consultation with hands-on support. That means I’m not only here to offer guidance and connect people to resources, but I’m also out in the community—walking through apartment tours, helping with job readiness, problem-solving in real time, and being present when it matters most.
I take pride in helping people set meaningful goals, navigate challenges, and celebrate every achievement, big or small. Whether it’s learning a new skill, gaining confidence, or simply having someone in your corner, I’m here to support and empower—every step of the way.
Independence isn’t about doing everything alone—it’s about having the tools, choices, and support to live life fully and freely. And I’m honored to be a part of that process.
